Pretty amazing. I love the added tuff of hair that lines his collar and shoulders. The scales just look amazing as well. This monster will always have a special place in my heart for 2 reason. First, he was the first monster I ever wrote a fan fiction about. And that was a 170 page story, so it was not one of those crappy 3 or 4 page "story's" I had a full movie plot with him haha.
2ndly this was the first store bought Godzilla movie that I had as a kid. Not only did the tape have Godzilla vs Megalon, but it also had the public domain movie The Snow Creature. So I watched that movie to death as a kid. And "to death" I literately mean that. The VCR eventually ate the thing and broke the tape. I think I might have cried when that happened too. I was pretty young......
Wow. You loved this guy huh? Great story about the VHS tape. The very first tape I rented at the very first video store I ever joined was Ghidorah the 3 headed monster. But I had to return it a day later. I found that Vs Megalon was on tv the most out of all the Godzilla movies back when I was a kid. And man did I love Monster week 4:30 movies on ABC. LOL. Imagine a major network showing a week of Godzilla movies today?
Aside from the Reading Rainbow color scheme that a lot of graphics used back in those days....like Filmation when they did their He-Man and She-Ra stuff, that is not a bad graphic and text. It's dated but I could see that still being used by a local access channel that is doing their "Elvira" like horror show on Friday nights. The only time I ever remember a lot of Godzilla movies on TV as a kid, at the same time, was when TBS did their "Day of the Dinosaur" marathon day. They showed a few Godzilla movies, Legend of Dinosaurs and Monster Birds, and The Last Dinosaur.
this took 2 hours. BUT, I had sculpted the body a few months ago. I just never posed it or detailed it or rendered it out. This is that. So, if I started from scratch, it would have taken about 10 hours.
I'll def do King Caesar, but honestly it was never one of my favorite suits, so I can't get terribly excited to do it. But I will eventually, for sure. I haven't even done any of my favorite's like Angilas, Ghidorah, and Mechagodzilla.
I'm definitely going to do Biollante. He's frikkin' awesome. but yes, that's an insane amount of work. I really need to figure out how to keep the poly count down when doing such complex models. This one really pushed the limits, and Destroyah is making it really hard for me to make a good render because it's too heavy to keep working with it. I need to learn a better workflow that allows for precise detail and complex shapes and appendages without the slow downs. So, I'm avoiding those mega-complex sculpts like Biollante, Legion and MechaKingGhidorah.
